Golf Course Changes due to Covid-19

We appreciate the opportunity to give our members and guests an outlet to get fresh air and exercise in a safe environment. We pride ourselves in providing a safe environment for the enjoyment of the game of golf, and we have opened with some very important changes designed to ensure everyone's safety.

Please review these Frequently Asked Questions before coming to the course.

Can we take a cart?
We are allowing walking and single rider carts (members of the same household may share a cart).

Can I walk up and play?
We ask that all tee times be booked ahead of time. If you don’t have a tee time booked, you may not be allowed to play.

How can I book a tee time?
For our members - please book your rounds in our member booking portal. You may also call the Golf Shop to book, but we are experiencing higher than normal call volumes.
For our outside players - you may call the Golf Shop at 804.966.7888 or book a tee time in our online booking engine.

What should I know when I go play?
Please arrive 20 minutes early to avoid creating any large groups. Once at the course you may go to the Pro Shop to check-in and purchase and merchandise you may need. Food and beverages are available in the Grille. Alcohol will be available for purchase from the golf course, but you are not allowed to bring your own per the State’s liquor licensing laws. After you have checked-in the starter will help you begin your round.

What has been done to limit grouping and touch points?

  • Face masks are required when inside the clubhouse, and you must follow all posted signage and staff directions.
  • Social Distancing is practiced in all areas of our facility and should be practiced on the golf course as well. Do not share clubs and golf equipment with your playing partners or congregate with them in the parking lot before or after your round.
  • The course has been set up to limit touch points by removing; bunker rakes, sand bottles, water coolers, ball washers, etc. The cups have been set up to stop the balls from going entirely into the hole for touchless retrieval.
  • The clubhouse is limited to 10 guests inside at a time – this includes checking in, use of the restrooms, and any purchases from the grill. Please follow all posted signs and instructions from staff members.

Are the driving range and putting green open?
The driving range is open for warm up and practice. All driving range stalls are set at least 6 feet apart and baskets can be purchased from the Golf Shop. Please leave empty baskets on the range for staff to come by, collect, and disinfect. The putting and chipping greens are open, and please keep 6 feet of space from anyone else warming up.

What about leagues, outings and events?
All league dates and times have been adjusted accordingly. If you have questions, please reach out to your league coordinator as we will continue to keep them informed. All our in-house tournaments and golf outings have been rescheduled. We are hoping to resume socially distant tournament play soon.

The Course
Voted 1st Runner Up in Best Golf Course Category in 2018 Richmond Times Dispatch Best of Richmond!

Brickshire Golf Club provides a fair test for golfers of all skill levels with five sets of tees.  Yardages extend from 4892 to a strenuous 7291, putting every part of your game to the test. With uphill and downhill shots, uneven lies, wetlands, and water, no two holes are even remotely alike. Pin placements are noted on our scorecard as to front, middle, or back.

Course distances are well marked: 100, 150, and 200 yard monuments; 150 yard posts; sprinkler head markings; and cart path markers.
Fairways are wide and generally forgiving.  Several fairways have a decided tilt, so the black and white aiming posts should be well heeded.

Architect Tom Clark laid out four sensational emulation holes, along with 14 originals with the help of Curtis Strange.  The fast, well-tended greens make Brickshire Golf Club a top rate golfing experience.
